Bio: Hi everyone! My name is Stephanie McCarter and I am a pelvic floor physical therapist at Empower Yourself PT in The Woodlands and a pediatric physical therapist at Nova Physical Therapy & Wellness in Montgomery. My dream of becoming a physical therapist and making a difference in the lives of people began in high school. I grew up in a small town called Gunter in North Texas; however, I have lived all over the state of Texas to pursue this dream of mine. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University and my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from The University of North Texas Health Science Center.
My husband and I moved to Montgomery in 2021, and we just fell in love with the area and the community. I am the lucky mom of two children, a boy and girl. Some of my hobbies include: spending time with my family, sipping on some local coffee, catching up with friends over brunch, or exercising!
I have dedicated majority of my career to working with the pediatric population from birth to 18 years of age and with multiple complexities. After my oldest had a NICU stay following birth and a difficult postpartum period, it redirected my focus in supporting not only children, but also women!!! I love making a difference in the lives of women at Empower Yourself PT and I am looking forward to continue my career in pediatrics as the owner and primary provider of Nova Physical Therapy & Wellness. It truly takes a village to feel supported during this challenging, yet so beautiful stage of life. I would love to be a part of your village!
