Bio: H-Town Placenta is owned by Maria Pokluda, one of the most experienced placenta encapsulators in the US. Maria has encapsulated over 3000 placentas and has certified hundreds of placenta encapsulators across the globe as the lead trainer for BEST Placenta Training. She also trains doulas and is an expert in all things baby and postpartum. In addition to placenta encapsulation certification, Maria carries a Texas Food Handler’s License and completed Blood Borne Pathogen training.
All placenta services are done in the "placenta kitchen". The placenta kitchen is space solely dedicated to the safest placenta encapsulation procedures. Your placenta is never near food, pets, children or even other placentas. It's the best way to ensure the safety of your pills, our safety as we encapsulate and ensures that you get *your* placenta products back quickly.
Maria loves playing pickleball and her guilty pleasure is reading a good book with a huge bowl of popcorn.
“When I started encapsulating placentas in 2007, there were no big organizations that offered training (and You Tube wasn’t full of videos about it either!). I learned the process from local midwives who offered apprenticeship. As certification became available, I certified via APPA, one of the first organization to offer placenta certification. Later, I was hired to create a doula training program and that morphed into owning my own placenta encapsulation training company. Not only do I get to offer straightforward and safe placenta services in Houston, but I am also able to train encapsulators around the world to do the same thing. Helping families thrive during postpartum and being able to train other women (and a man or two) with sustainable job skills is a dream come true. I am lucky to do what I do and I love it!"
